Yesterday, Serena Williams won her match at the ASB Classic in Australia. It was the singles final making it her first title win in three years and since becoming a mother.
Her daughter was court-side to see her win which got her a whopping $43,000. Serena immediately pledged to donate that money to the victims of the Australian wildfires. She joins a handful of other tennis stars doing to the same…and I have to give credit to these celebrities. They have the money and they are putting their money where their mouth is.
Already, Chris Hemsworth and Elton John have donated $1 million each and several other stars have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars.
As for Serena’s win she said, “It’s been a long time. I think you can see the relief on my face.”
